Sibcem’s Iskitimcement finalizes the first phase of its raw materials facility automation, told Managing Director of Iskitimcement Vladimir Skakun to Cement and its Applications journal. The facility has control rooms built for operators of raw mills and operators of vertical slurry tanks. New slurry pumps produced in Russia capable of ensuring uniformity of sludge supply and its accurate dosage depending on the specified kiln productivity rate were installed and put into operation at kilns No. 6 and No. 7. Commissioning of equipment and completion of the first stage of automation are scheduled for 2021.
The control room of the slurry tanks is equipped with the equipment necessary for the full technological monitoring of the whole production cycle. All the necessary technological parameters are accessible for the operator at any time, and cameras will later be installed to provide the complete visual control of the equipment operation. The automation here assumes full control over the production: from the slurry mixture preparation to its delivery to the kiln.
The second stage of automation — at Iskitim’s raw mill facility — is scheduled to take place during 2021-2023. Experts will equip the raw mills control room with remote controls to operate all parameters of the grinding units and will set up auxiliary equipment. It is planned to install dosing devices to provide uniform and accurate feeding of raw materials, additives and maintain productivity levels. Workstations allowing to visualize the process of operation of technological equipment and slurry preparation will be mounted in the control room.
Control and measuring devices of domestic and European manufacturers will be used at all stages of automation.
