In 9M 2020 Sibcem’s enterprises produced about 3.7 million tons of cement, which is 5 % less than in January-September 2019. Only two enterprises of the holding showed an increase in production volumes over the reporting period — Iskitimcement and Krasnoyarsk Cement.
The volume of cement production at the enterprises of the holding in 9M 2020 amounted to:
- 784,300 tons at Iskitimcement (up by 1 % YoY);
- 495,100 tons at Krasnoyarsk Cement (up by 1 % YoY);
- 1.7 million tons at Topkinsky Cement (down by 6 % YoY);
- 493,900 tons at Angarskcement (down by 7 % YoY);
- 271,000 tons at TimlyuyCement (down by 16 % YoY).
“In the second and third quarters of 2020, the market was changing almost unpredictably. For example, in April, when active work is usually resumed at construction sites in Siberia, the cement demand in the macroregion decreased by 20 % compared to the same period last year. In May, consumption increased — the effects of deferred demand emerged. However, in the following months, we recorded negative dynamics once again. Moreover, the most serious drop was noted at the very peak of the construction season: in July, when the market capacity decreased by 10 %, — emphasizes Gennady Rasskazov, First Vice President of Sibcem. — Cement consumption amounted to 4.2 million tons in 9 months in the regions of the Siberian Federal District, as well as in Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory. It is 3 % less than in January-September 2019. By December the "YoY lag" will increase, while now it is somewhat neutralized by the results of the first quarter this year."
At the moment, the Krasnoyarsk Cement is carrying out scheduled maintenance of the rotary kiln No. 5 and finalizing installation of a new electrostatic precipitator.
