Kavkazcement Launches a Rotary Kiln After Four Years on Standby

Kavkazcement plant in Karachay-Cherkessia — the largest cement producer in the North Caucasus — has completed overhaul of rotary kiln No. 2, which has been on standby for the last four years. The kiln is now operational, which will allow the company to reach its maximum capacity during the construction season of 2020.

The repairs at the enterprise continue. The plant’s specialists and contractors should finalize the overhaul of the primary and auxiliary technological equipment before the season starts. In 2020, Kavkazcement plans to increase production by more than 40%. Investments in the project amount to 400 million rubles.

“A significant increase in the enterprise’s capacity was made possible due to the implementation of large-scale investment projects, increase in quality, and the high demand for our products,” says General Director of Kavkazcement Oleg Lopatin.

EUROCEMENT Holding expects Kavkazcement to increase production in 2020 from 1.4 million to 2.4 million tons. In 2019, Kavkazcement completed the construction of a new grinding facility, as well as a gas-piston thermal power plant. The amount of investments amounted to 2.5 billion rubles.

The next stage of modernization includes the construction of an energy-efficient kiln for dry-process production line. The design capacity of all four production lines on Kavkazcement is 3.4 million tons of cement per year.
