The Magnitogorsk Cement and Refractories Plant (MCRP), part of MMK Group, is equipping its rotary kilns with an Automated Emissions Monitoring System (AEMS). The kilns are the plant's main sources of atmospheric emissions.
During the first stage of the project, the company identified the facilities to be equipped with the system and selected the optimal installation locations based on the design of the exhaust stacks.
Rotary kilns No. 1, 2 and 3 will be fitted with modern dust analysers. Rotary kilns No. 4 and 5 will receive integrated monitoring systems capable of measuring both particulate matter and flue gas emissions.
The engineering and design phase has been completed, and the monitoring equipment is currently being manufactured. Commissioning and the start of commercial operation are scheduled for October 2026.
The implementation of the AEMS will enable the plant to comply with regulatory requirements for automated emissions monitoring and provide continuous, objective control of atmospheric emissions.
