Mill No. 8 at ‘Gornozavodskcement’ Modernized to Closed Circuit Grinding Unit

The reconstruction of the grinding mill No. 8 is finalized at Gornozavodskcement. The open circuit mill is now converted into a closed circuit unit after a full replacement of  its internal parts, as per Gornozavodskcement representatives.

A dynamic separator by Christian Pfeiffer and supplemental equipment was installed in the mill, along with weight batchers and control systems. The ball load of the mill uses high-chromium wear-resistant balls.

Mill No. 8 has already been put into operation. Modernization began in January and took less than three months. The control system of the mill is automated.

The reconstruction is complete and Gornozavodskcement will now be able produce CEM I 52.5N under conditions of high demand as the building materials market count on the eterprise to do so. The overall productivity of the mill is now increased by 25-30% with less energy consumption.

Gornozavodskcement produces 2 million tons of cement per year. South Ural Mining Processing Company (YUGPK) holds a majority stake in enterprise.
