The construction of a second production line has begun at a cement plant in the Namangan region of Uzbekistan. The new line will boost the plant’s cement capacity to 1.2 million tpa (by 0,9 million tpa). Investments in the project are estimated at $49 million.
Namangancement’s own part in the investment pool amounts to $14 million and the remaining $35 million come as a bank loan from Uzbek ‘Hamkorbank’.
The new production line is expected to launch by the end of 2021, providing 250 new jobs at Namangancement. The first production line at Namangan with a capacity of 300,000 tpa was put into operation on July 10, 2019.
