Official opening of the cement plant in Samarkand (Uzbekistan)

China Energy International Group Samarkand Cement launched another major investment project on cement production in Kattakurgan district of Samarkand region. The production capacity of the plant is 7.5 thousand tonnes of cement clinker per day. The plant is equipped with modern, energy-saving equipment. The plant will produce Portland cement of classes M-400 and M-500. The overall cost of the investment project will be 3.85 trillion UZS.

The plant will produce 3 million tonnes of cement per year. The enterprise has a technological line with the largest cement kiln in Uzbekistan. The company will employ experienced specialists from Uzbekistan and China to manufacture the products. Thanks to the launch of the new cement plant, 500 new jobs have been created.

It is worth noting that the plant is powered by coal. This allows for increased energy efficiency, also due to the installing of energy-saving equipment, which ensures lower fuel consumption and higher production volume. 

Uzbekistan has 36 cement plants with a total production capacity of 29.8 million tonnes of cement per year. Experts estimate that total production of cement will reach 15.1 million tonnes in 2023. 

In 2023, Karakalpak Cement LLC will produce 1 million 400 thousand tonnes of cement with a total value of USD 65 million, Tashkent Conch Cement LLC will produce 2 million 500 thousand tonnes of cement with a total value of USD 200 million, and Fergana Yasin Building Materials LLC will produce 1 million tonnes of cement with a total value of USD 120 million. The capacity of cement production enterprises will be increased by 200 thousand tonnes. In addition, new projects of limited liability companies "Eco Cement", "Ishonchli Posbon Textile", "Zhomboycement" will be carried out in the cement industry. 

According to the list of investment projects on cement production, in 2023 it is planned to build 1 new cement plant in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 1 in Andijan region, 1 in Jizzak region, 1 in Namangan region, 2 in Samarkand, 1 in Tashkent region.
