Primary Technological Equipment Repairs at LafargeHolcim’s Schurovsky Plant Complete

LafargeHolcim’s Shurovsky cement plant in Russia finalized repairs of the primary technological equipment, including the white cement production line. A crushing facility at the quarry, a pipe conveyor,  a raw mill, a kiln unit, and the entire fleet of cement mills were all repaired. The new equipment was provided by major European suppliers and one Chinese supplier. Some equipment components were replaced by Russian parts.

This year, the plant also expanded its soil stabilization product line by changing formulations, modernizing dosing devices. The plant now plans using municipal solid waste (MSW) as an alternative fuel. A gradual transition to AF has already been initiated, and old car tires are currently used at Shurovsky.

“The project will allow the company to become part of the MSW management chain,” says the plant’s director Arthur Buzyurov.

Another Russian subsidiary of LafargeHolcim, Ferzikovo Cement plant in Kaluga region substituted up to 14 % of NG with AF fuel during 2019.
