Russian Government Lists 38 Manufacturers of Building Materials as Essential Enterprises

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has published an updated list of the essential enterprises of the building materials industry. The list was published on April 24th and now includes a total of 38 companies with ‘EUROCEMENT group’ and Siberian Cement on the list since April 6th. All these companies can rely on government support, including subsidies covering loans interest.

Companies involved in the industry of building materials and construction design were selected according to two criteria: 3-billion-plus rubles a year in revenue, and at least 300 employees. Being a city-forming enterprise also gets a company on the list.

'EUROCEMENT group', Siberian Cement, Holcim (Rus) Building Materials, SMIKOM Group, Spasskcement, and Gazmetallproekt are among the companies on the list. You can see the full list here.

The essential enterprises have the right to request for state support and receive a loan guarantee from the government and a preferential interest rate of 5 % max. The government’s guarantee covers 50 % of the loan not exceeding 3 billion rubles.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade updated the list of system-forming organizations after the government commission for the sustainability of the development of the Russian economy expanded quotas for ministries on April 17th.
