Saint-Gobain Will Build Dry Mortar Plant in Southern Russia

Saint-Gobain group of companies will build a new dry mortar plant in the industrial park of the city of Nevinnomyssk in the Stavropol Territory. Putting the plant into operation will more than double the dry mortar production volume under the Weber-Vetonit brand, as per the Saint-Gobain Russia’s representatives.

The volume of investments in the construction of the new enterprise will be about $ 5 million. This amount includes the construction of buildings, adjoining infrastructure, and installation of equipment.

The new plant is expected to produce 60,000 tons of dry mortars per year. Currently, only three plants in Russia produce dry mortars under the Weber-Vetonit brand.

The southern region of Stavropol has a population of 26 million people, and, according to company Saint-Gobain, there is a rapid growth in housing construction.

“We see high investment and market potential in the southern region. Despite the struggle with COVID-19 and the difficult situation in the global economy, Saint-Gobain continues to invest in business development in Russia, Ukraine and the CIS countries,” says CEO of Saint-Gobain CIS, Antoine Peyrude.

The company expects to begin production at the new plant in April 2021, and reach full production capacity by the end of 2021.

At the end of May 2020, Saint-Gobain announced the launch of a new production line at its plant in the Moscow region. The new line allowed Saint-Gobain to increase the total volume of products manufactured under the Weber-Vetonit brand in Russia up to 26,000 tons per year.
