Akhangarancement is About Three Months Away From Becoming No. 1 by Capacity in Uzbekistan

A subsidiary of ‘EUROCEMENT group’, Akhangarancement is preparing for pre-commissioning activities at a new dry-process cement production line with a capacity of 3 million tpa. The commissioning and launch of the new line is scheduled for Q3 2020, as the plant’s representatives told ‘Cement and its Applications’.

The exact launch date will be determined based on the epidemiological situation at the moment.

“We had modern energy-saving equipment produced at German and Chinese enterprises imported and installed at the facility,” says head of the capital construction department at Akhangarancement, Evgeny Osipov. - The equipment will help save natural gas resources, up to 60 % of electrical energy, and boost production. New filters will help prevent pollution.”

A rotary kiln shell was set up at the new production line this April, along with main filters. In May, Akhangarancement initiated the final stage of the installation of conveying equipment, raw and cement mills, jaw crushers, and hammer crushers.

Investments in the construction of a new production line are estimated at 160 million US dollars.

The project will cover 30 % of cement demand in Uzbekistan and 100 % of cement demant of the Tashkent region. Akhangarancement currently stands as the second largest cement plant in Uzbekistan by its design capacity of 2.18 million tons per year.
