Sibcem sums up production results of the first quarter of 2021

Siberian Cement has summed up results of work in the first quarter of 2021. From January to March, five cement plants of the holding produced almost 723.2 thousand tons of cement, which is 9.7% less compared to the same indicator of 2020.

Topkinsky plant, produced 343.7 thousand tons of goods in the first quarter, Iskitimcement - 149.2 thousand tons, a drop compared to the first quarter of last year is 11% and 19%, respectively. In the reported period, Krasnoyarsk Cement increased production by 8% to 105.3 thousand tons, while Angarsk cement and mining plant produced 77.4 thousand tons of cement (-7%) during the same period. Timlyui cement plant, which produced 47.4 thousand tons of products, ended the quarter with an increase of 20%. The holding was able to achieve this by changing the market situation in Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory: the regions are recovering the pace of construction slowed down in 2020, including actively building social and transport infrastructure as part of the federal program. In addition, Timlyuicement's products are now widely represented in Chita, where one of the plant's clients opened a large distribution center specializing in building materials.

Volna plant in January-March produced about 1.5 million square meters of chrysotile cement products, which is 81% more than a year earlier. The growth at the enterprise is explained, first of all, by an increase in demand for eight-wave slate. Export shipments of these products increased because local production lines with Chinese equipment were stopped in Tajikistan, as due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they did not receive the necessary spare parts from the PRC.

In the reporting period, the “Sibirskiy beton” company shipped 46.4 thousand cubic meters of concrete and mortars to customers, the increase is 10% compared to the same indicator in 2020.

Gennady Rasskazov, First Vice President of Sibcem Holding Company JSC emphasized: “In the first quarter, cement consumption in Siberia, as well as in Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory decreased by 3% compared to January-March of last year and amounted to around 820.5 thousand tons. We hope that the demand for our products will increase in the “high” season. Currently, the holding's factories are completing preparations for the summer months: no matter how the market situation develops, we will be able to fully provide consumers with high-quality building materials”.
