As part of the year of transport safety announced by SLK Cement, company representatives held a roundtable with cement carriers. Over 20 representatives of transport companies delivering products of cement plants in Korkino and Sukhoi Log took part in the roundtable.
SLK Cement representatives told their partners in logistics about large projects that will be implemented in the near future at plants to improve the processes of loading of products. Among those projects are the modernization of silos at the Korkino plant, including construction of additional loading points, and the modernization of side loading at the silos at the Sukhoi Log plant. As a result of the implementation of these projects, the downtime of transportation will be reduced, and the loading of cement into vehicles will accelerate.
Yevgeny Grishchenko, Logistics Director of SLK Cement stated: “I am confident in the effectiveness of direct contact with our partners. Based on the results of the roundtable and further discussion with colleagues, we will continue to work on improvement of the transportation process. It is especially important that some changes can already be implemented thanks to feedback and suggestions that were voiced during the event”.
Issues of labor protection and transport, as well as road safety were discussed separately, to which SLK Cement pays special attention. Employees of the company, together with carriers, analyzed specific examples of violations committed by drivers of contractor vehicles, and once again reminded that everyone entering the territory of SLK Cement is obliged to undergo instruction in labor protection and follow established requirements.
Roundtable participants agreed on plans for further cooperation: By the end of 2021, off site cross-country meetings will be held. In November 2021 SLK Cement employees will organize specifically for transport companies the “Safe Heavy Truck” competition, and in December 2021 another roundtable will be held for cement carriers, where participants will sum up the results of the year.
