Sibcem Will Use Ash & Slag Waste in Cement Production

Sibcem will cooperate with Siberian Generating Company to use ash and slag waste (ASW) in the production of cement at its enterprises. The first supplies of ash and slag waste for pilot testing of cement production are scheduled for the second half of 2021.

Three stations of the Siberian Generating Company in Novosibirsk and Kemerovo are going to deliver up to 200 tons of ASW per day. The Kemerovo state district power station is expected to deliver up to 55,000 tons of ASW per annum. The products will ship to Sibcem plants in the Novosibirsk region, Kuzbass and Krasnoyarsk Territory, as the energy company specifies.

Earlier it became known that the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation has developed a roadmap that contains a list of pilot projects for the use of ash and slag materials (ASM) in road construction, as well as in the cement industry.
