Specialists of Mordovcement (part of the EUROCEMENT group) have been trained and are now able to independently eliminate defects in conveyor belts in workshops and mining operations.
Three specialists of Mordovcement received the necessary knowledge within the framework of a six-month training for independent restoration of belts and are now repairing conveyor belts without the involvement of contractors.
Conveyors are used to transport bulk cargo from one unit to another in a continuous flow without stopping for loading and unloading in mining and cement production lines. The main traction and at the same time carrying element of the conveyor is the belt looped around the end drums. Periodically, it breaks down due to wear, due to the effect of flask abrasive, chalk, gypsum, clinker and cement, as well as mechanical damage by foreign objects and large fractions of raw materials.
During restoration work, the employees of the plant use a vulcanizer – a system of jacks and heating plates, which, by means of high temperature and pressure weld rubber bands. In addition, specialists use special equipment for cutting belts: knives, grinders, clamps, a gripping system, and also a hoist.
