Tajikistan plans to increase the volume of cement exports up to 1.9 million tons by 2023. The projected growth in cement export in the country in the period from 2021 to 2023 is about 200,000 tons. The volume of cement production by 2023 is expected to reach 5.3 million tons.
At present, the design capacity of cement enterprises in Tajikistan is estimated at 5.6 million tons per year. In 2020, the country produced 4.2 million tons of cement, 1 % more than in 2019. According to the country's Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, over 1.3 million tons of the total produced volume was exported to neighboring countries.
Uzbekistan and Afghanistan became the main importers of Tajik cement. 764,000 tons of cement were delivered to Uzbekistan, 505,000 tons to Afghanistan, and another 42,000 tons of cement were exported to Kyrgyzstan.
