In February 2021, enterprises of the Russian Federation produced 2.8 million tons of cement (Portland cement, alumina cement, slag cement and similar hydraulic cements), which is 11.2 % more than in January. Compared to February 2020, production decreased by 13.4 %.
In January-February 2021, the volume of cement production decreased by 8.6 % compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 5.1 million tons.
Ready-mixed concrete production in two months of 2021 amounted to 3.4 million m3, which is 4.7 % less than in January-February 2020. Compared to February 2020, the production of ready-mixed concrete in February 2021 decreased by 12.6 %.
The support measures announced by the Russian government have become stimulating factors in the activities of the cement industry. The results of the cement industry in 2020 coincided with the forecasts of Soyuzcement. In December, the association assessed the effectiveness of the support measures for industry and the economy.
This year, Russia is expected to launch a new cement plant in Bashkortostan.
