Kryvyi Rih Cement Plant Expands Its Transport Fleet with New Cement Hoppers

The Krivoy Rog Cement plant, formerly part of HeidelbergCement, has purchased 140 hopper wagons for its proprietary transport fleet. The first 40 hoppers for the transportation of cement have already been delivered to the enterprise. Another 100 cars are expected to be delivered by mid-April 2021.

“With the new hoppers, we will be able to execute over 50 % of cement transportation through our own transport resources, accounting for over 31,000 tons of products per month,” said Igor Zavinovskiy, head of the board of Kriviy Rih Cement.

According to the company, the wagons (model 19-7075) were received on March, 11. Carrying capacity of the car is 74 tons, which is two tons more than the hoppers available in the fleet of JSC "Ukrainian Railways". The cars are also equipped with anti-vandal protection. As of today, the plant has 122 wagons in its fleet.

Kryvyi Rih Cement is a manufacturer of cement, concrete and granite crushed stone. The design capacity of the enterprise is 1.6 million tons of cement and 1.1 million tons of clinker per year.
