In January 2021, Turkish enterprises exported 1.1 million tons of Portland cement, which is 8.2 % more compared (hereinafter) with January 2020. The export value increased by 15.5 %, up to US$ 42.9 million. The main importers of Turkish cement are the United States, Israel and Syria.
The United States imported 353,700 tons of cement from Turkey (4.8 % less) in the amount of US$ 13.7 million (4.2 % less). 246,100 tons of cement (16.7 % less) were shipped to Israel in the amount of US$ 9.1 million (29.3 % more). Turkey delivered 115,500 tons of cement to Syria (2.2 times more) worth US$ 4.7 million (three times more).
The volume of exports of Turkish Portland cement to Ukraine decreased in physical and monetary terms by 66 % — down to 6,900 and US$ 273,700. Georgia imported 19.4 % less of Turkish cement — 9,300 tons in the amount of US$ 390,900 dollars (17.8 % less). Russia reduced the volume of exports of Turkish Portland cement by 65.8 %, down to 1,600 tons, and the value of exports amounted to US$ 73,800 (down by 64.5%).
In 2020, Turkish enterprises exported 55 % more Portland cement than in 12 months of 2019. The export value increased by 49.2 %, and the USA and Israel were the main importers.
