A new 2 million tpa cement plant, Huaxin Cement Jizzakh, had a successful trial production run. Its dry process clinker production line was launched in the Zafarabad district of the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan.
The construction of Huaxin Cement Jizzakh was planned back in 2018, when the agreement between Huaxin Cement and the government of the republic was established. The new enterprise will provide 1,200 jobs. The volume of investments in the project amounted to 150 million US dollars.
The total capacity of the country's cement enterprises in 2019 amounted to 10.99 million tons. The main players on the Uzbek market at the moment are: Almalyk MMC, Akhangarancement, Bekabadcement, Qizilqumsement and Quvasaysement.
Earlier this month, the government of Uzbekistan ordered to increase the volume of cement imported into the country.
