YUGPK [South Ural Mining and Processing Company] launched airborne geophysical studies at its Novotroitsk plant to study the prospects for expanding the production and processing of fluxing limestone. The studies are carried out using a helicopter and a platform with an ‘Impulse A6/A7‘ geophysical probe system.
In 2024, commercial mining of limestone at Central quarry will be complete, so there is a need to specify the location of the remaining fluxing limestone deposits and the boundaries of the quarry itself. The North-Western quarry undergoes the same procedure to increase its fluxing limestone output.
The Novotroitsk plant’s design capacity is 2.38 million tons of cement per year. Limestone for the needs of the plant is mined in two quarries. The Central quarry is about 4.5 km away from the production site, and the North-West quarry is about 2 km away.
At the end of 2019, a third slag processing unit with a capacity of 300,00 tons of finished products per year was launched at the Novotroitsk plant.
