Belarusian сement company expands the use of alternative fuels and implements environmental projects

Belarusian Cement Company continues to implement environmental initiatives aimed at reducing CO₂ emissions and improving operational efficiency through the expanded use of alternative fuels.

A project for the use of RDF fuel has been implemented at Krasnoselskstroymaterialy OJSC. Today, it is the only specialized technological line of this type in Belarus. The enterprise receives and uses RDF fuel produced at Belarusian waste-sorting facilities in its cement kiln during clinker production using the dry process.

To further utilize production capacities and reduce dependence on imports, the company also uses other types of alternative fuels, including synthetic fiber from tire cord, flax shives, shredded textile waste, wood chips, and petroleum coke.

In 2026, Belarusian Cement Company is entering the decisive phase of implementing large-scale investment projects. The company plans to build two RDF fuel feeding lines for the decarbonizers of cement kilns at the sites of Belarusian Cement Plant OJSC and Krichevcementnoshifer OJSC.

Another environmental project is being implemented at Krichevcementnoshifer OJSC, where the company plans to establish the production of artificial gypsum stone based on phosphogypsum. The project will enable the use of chemical industry waste in the production process, reduce environmental impact, and diversify imports of natural gypsum stone, providing the cement industry with its own source of gypsum raw materials.
