In January-November 2020, Ukrainian enterprises produced 9.02 million tons of cement, which is 6.6 % more than in the same period in 2019. The volume of cement production in November increased by 20.1 % compared to last November and amounted to 854,100 tons.
The volume of clinker production in January-November 2020 increased by 2 % YoY and amounted to 6.81 million tons. The volume of clinker production in November decreased by 0.5 % compared to last November and amounted to 684,600 tons.
The production of quicklime increased by 4.9 % in January-November and amounted to 2.13 million tons. The volume of production of quicklime in November increased by 29.2 % compared to last November and amounted to 203,000 tons.
The volume of ready-mixed concrete production in 11 months of 2020 decreased by 5.3 %, to 15.06 million tons. In November 2020, Ukrainian enterprises produced 1.62 million tons of ready-mixed concrete, which is 5.6 % more than in November 2019.
The introduction of import duties for Belarusian and Moldovian clinker and cement, along with the ban of Russian cement products on August 1, 2019, boosted the demand for local products. Duties for all goods from Moldova (including cement) were set at 94.46 %, and duties for all goods from Belarus (including cement) were set at 57.03 %. More than 80 % of cement imports are products of Turkish enterprises.
