Ukravtodor Will Invest EUR 1.02 Billion in Concrete Roads

Ukravtodor (State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine) plans to invest UAH 35 billion in the construction of concrete roads under the Big Construction state program by 2025. This year, 80 km of the N-31 highway became the first high-speed concrete highway in Ukraine.

Last week, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) allocated EUR 450 million to Ukravtodor for the development of road infrastructure, including the repairs of the existing road network. In 2020, Ukravtodor built and repaired 4,000 km of roads. Next year, the organization intends to increase this figure to 6,800 km.

Back in September GosdorNII and Ukravtodor presented a project according to which it is envisaged to increase the share of cement-concrete roads in Ukraine from 1 % to 5 % by 2025 within the framework of the Big Construction program. According to the director of the association of cement producers (Ukrcement) the plans to increase the share of concrete roads in Ukraine give reason to hope for the recovery and growth of the cement industry.

In January-October 2020, Ukraine recorded growth in cement, clinker and lime production.
