In 2020, Belarus reduced the volume of cement imports by 1.4 %, to 495,600 tons. The main import-partner of Belarus was the Russian Federation. Russia exported 431,300 tons of cement to Belarus in 2020, which is 26 % more than in 2019.
The volume of cement imports from Latvia decreased by 44.1 % YoY, down to 39,200 tons, from Ukraine — by 86.4 % YoY (down to 6,900 tons), from Turkey — by 6.9 % YoY (down to 11,900 tons).
The value of imports in 2020 decreased by 11.8 %, down to US$ 25 million.
The volume of cement exports increased by 2.3 % YoY, up to 1.57 million tons. The export value dropped 4 % to US$ 79.66 million. Russia has become the main export partner of Belarus. The Russian Federation exported 997,600 tons of cement from Belarus, which is 13.7 % more than in 2019.
The volume of production of cement, lime and gypsum in Belarus in 2020 showed an increase.
