In 2020, Saudi Arabian enterprises produced 53.42 million tons of cement, which is 20.5 % more than in 2019. The volume of clinker production for the same period increased by 4 % and amounted to 49.20 million tons.
The volume of cement production in December increased by 9 % compared to December 2019 and amounted to 5.13 million tons. Clinker production for the same month increased by 3.4 %, up to 4.42 million tonnes.
The volume of cement consumption in the country in 2020 increased by 20.7 %, amounting to 51.08 million tons.
The volume of export shipments of cement in 2020 increased by 9.7 % and amounted to 2.13 million tons. The volume of export shipments of clinker in January-December 2020 decreased by 19.6 % compared to January-November 2019 and amounted to 4.50 million tons.
