Sibcem’s Angarskcement Reports 2020 Results

Sibcem’s Angarskcement has reported the results of work in 2020. In 2020 the enterprise produced 581,000 tons of cement, down by 8 % YoY. Angarskcement’s raw material base delivered 665,000 tons of marbled limestone. The production of crushed stone of various fractions amounted to 44,000 tons.

The cement market of Siberia in 2020 showed negative dynamics. Over 12 months, Angarskcement dispatched 584,000 tons of finished products to consumers — down by 7 % YoY: 284,000 tons were shipped by rail, 300,000 tons — by road. The company's own cement trucks delivered 68,000 tons of cement accounting for 23 % of the total volume of shipment by road.

In 2020, cement was shipped to consumers:
  • in bulk — 318,000 tons (54 % of the total sales volume);
  • in flexible containers of 1000 kg — 192,000 tons of cement (33 % of the total volume);
  • in 50-kg paper bags — 74,000 tons (13 % of the total volume), including 9,000 tons — palletized.

In the past season, Angarskcement also launched production of palletized cement in 25-kg bags.

To improve the product delivery service, the company purchased a new three-axle semi-trailer capable of transporting up to 25 tons of cement and crushed stone in all types of containers. In the summer, the company received a new tractor. Now the company's vehicle fleet has nine own vehicles to transport products to customers.

The quality of the products is controlled by the accredited laboratory of the enterprise at every stage of production. The department constantly participates in interlaboratory comparative tests, and the level of its equipment allows it to carry out all the necessary procedures in accordance with state standards. In 2020, RUB 1.2 million were allocated to upgrade laboratory equipment.

Sibirskiy Cement continues to implement major investment projects at the plant.

The Kiln facility had a new electrostatic precipitator installed at the rotary kiln No. 2 to improve air purification (dedusting). The total investment in this facility is estimated at around RUB 177 million.

In the Grinding facility, the modernization of the closed-circuit grinding system at cement mills No. 1 and 2 continues. Part of the equipment has already been put into operation for the production of separated cement. The project is expected to be fully complete in 2021. The preliminary cost of the investment facility is estimated at RUB 353 million.

The plant's power supply system is undergoing a long-term modernization program, which includes, in particular, the construction of a cable rack from substation 110/35/6 "Tsemzavod" to transformer substation No. 3. The main construction work has already been completed. Soon the specialists will start the technical re-equipment of the transformer substation No. 3, which supplies electricity to the Grinding facility. The commissioning of these two facilities is scheduled for H2 2021. The total cost of construction of a cable rack and technical re-equipment of substation No. 3 will amount to about RUB 219 million.

Compressor equipment is being upgraded: in 2020, a new European-made compressor was installed at the plant at a cost of RUB 19.6 million (excluding VAT).

The fleet of special equipment is being updated: in 2020, the company purchased a new front-end loader and a bulldozer. Two grab-bucket cranes were replaced at the warehouse for raw materials and clinker.

“Last year, due to the spread of coronavirus, most companies in the construction and other industries found themselves in a difficult situation. Angarskсement is no exception. We have fulfilled the tasks that we faced, but we did not manage to keep production volumes at the level of 2019 and produce 635,000 tons of cement in 12 months, — says Dmitry Kireev, Managing Director of Angarskcement. — In 2021 we expect to produce 568,000 tons of cement — less than half of the capacity of the Angarskcement, capable of producing 1.3 million tons per year. The plant is fully prepared to provide consumers with high-quality building materials and increase its output at the first demand of the market."
