Portugese industrial holding company Semapa Group reported 2020 results, indicating a nearly sixfold YoY increase in net profit for its cement segment (Secil Group) — EUR 52.7 million compared to EUR 8.8 million in 2019. Cement revenue in 2020 amounted to EUR 451 million, which is 11.7 % less YoY. EBITDA indicator is up by 15.3 % YoY, amounting to EUR 123.6 million.
Clinker production at Semapa's enterprises went down by 4.2 % YoY (to 4,30 million tons), and cement production in 2020 went down by 6.9 % YoY (to 4,99 million tons).
Sales volumes mostly went down YoY, except for clinker and mortars. Mortars sales volume went up by 5.4 % and amounted to 208,000 tons. Clinker sales went up by 80.5 and amounted to 504,000 tons.
Grey cement sales volume amounted to 4.65 million tons (down by 8.1 % YoY), white cement — 65,000 tons (down by 8.2 % YoY), and aggregates sales volume went down by 15 % YoY, amounting to 2,78 million tons.
