President of Turkmenistan Discussed Development of Construction and Industrial Complex

In early February, at a working meeting on the development of the construction and industrial complex, the President of the Republic of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov prioritized the development of the industrial and construction sectors through innovative technologies and digitalization.

In order to accelerate the digitalization process in the industry, the Ministry of Industry and Construction, developed a ‘Plan of forthcoming works for 2020-2021 for the development of the digital economy in Turkmenistan’.

In 2020, cement enterprises of the Republic of Turkmenistan produced 1,940.6 kt of cement, which is 2.7 % less than in 2019. The volume of brick production amounted to 803.9 million pcs. By the end of 2020, the area of ​​housing commissioned in the country increased by 32.9 % YoY, up to 2 million m2. The volume of production of reinforced concrete structures went up by 3.9 % YoY.

As the head of state emphasized, it is important to speed up housing construction in settlements, and pay special attention to the construction of modern residential buildings across the country. The task was also given to study delayed construction objects to take measures to complete them.

In 2022, the Bakharden and Lebap cement plants are expected to launch new technological lines with a production capacity of 1 million tons of cement per year each.
