Türkmensement Will Expand Capacity by 2 Million TPA

Türkmensement’s Baharden and Lebap cement plants in Turkmenistan expect to launch the construction of new production lines in July 2020. Each plant will add one production line, with each line being one million tpa in design capacity.

General contractors for the capacity expansion projects were determined via the official tendering process earlier this year. Beýik-Bina, a private Turkmen company, was assigned for modernization of the Baharden cement plant. Türkmen enjam, another private company from Turkmenistan, will carry out the works at Lebap cement plant.

The companies will have to design and build the new production lines, to improve the adjacent territory, and construct engineering systems for electricity, gas and water supply, including sewage. Companies are both obliged to finalize capacity expansion and deliver fully operational facilities in December 2022.

Projects of Beýik-Bina and Türkmen enjam were recognized as the most cost efficient.

Bakharden cement plant currently stands at 1 million tpa of design capacity, and Lebap plant’s design capacity is 1.5 million tpa. The total design capacity of Turkmenistan’s cement enterprises is 3.7 million tpa.
