In 5M 2020, Russian enterprises produced 19.2 million tons of cement, showing a decrease of 3.9 % YoY. RMC production declined by 1.9 % YoY, down to 12.1 million m³. Precast production declined by 4,1 % YoY, down to 8.2 million m³.
MoM results indicate the production of Portland cement, alumina cement, slag cement and similar hydraulic cements to decrease by 7.8 %. RMC and precast production declined by 9.6 % and 9,4 % MoM accordingly.
Positive YoY dynamics were last seen in 4M 2020 for RMC (2,6 %) and in 3M 2020 for precast (4,5 %).
The demand for cement and other building materials in Russia has been gradually recovering after the April decline, according to the Union of Cement Manufacturers “Soyuzcement".
