In January-May, enterprises of the Republic of Belarus produced 1.8 million tons of cement, showing a 3.85 % YoY growth. May was the first month of 2020 to show a YoY loss in production volumes (down by 3.7 %), as per the National Statistical Committee of Belarus.
However, May 2020 showed an 11.8 % MoM increase in production volumes with Belarusian enterprises delivering 460,900 tons of cement.
Export of Belarusian cement in 4M 2020 amounted to 621,800 tons (up by 29 % YoY). Russia and Poland are the major importers, accounting for 65 % and 24.1 % of the total import accordingly.
In 4M 2020 Belarus imported 231,600 tons of cement (up by 41.1 % YoY) with 81.4 % of the total volume imported from Russia.
In Q1 2020, Belarusian enterprises produced 928,000 tons of cement (up by 10.5 % YoY).
