Production of Building Materials in Azerbaijan in 5M 2020 Decreased by 9.3 %

In January-May 2020, Azerbaijan produced 264.7 million manat ($ 156 million) worth of building materials, down by 9.3 % YoY. Cement production decreased by 6.2 %, down to 1.25 million tons, as per the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

RMC production in 5M 2020 increased by 4.4 % YoY, up to 635,800 tons. The production of gypsum is up by 3.6 times (up to 6,500 tons).
Construction lime production in Azerbaijan showed a decrease in 5M 2020, down to 10,800 tons (down by 37.2 % YoY). Building blocks and bricks made of cement, artificial stone or concrete — down by 74.6 % YoY, to 13,500 tons.

A slight decline of 0.6 % YoY occurred in the production of precasts, down to 16,800 m³. 4M 2020 data indicated a 10 % YoY decline in cement production (911,000 tons total), and a 4,5 % YoY decline in building materials production (204 million manat total).
