New Reinforced Concrete Plant in Belarus Targeting Russian Market

Private investors are planning to commission a reinforced concrete plant in Vitebsk, Balarus by the end of 2020. The plant is a former state-owned enterprise, which went bankrupt in 2019. Once the new owners renovate and launch the plant, it will produce 230,000 m3 of reinforced concrete products per year. Local businessmen are partnering with a German investor who is going to invest $ 400,000 in modernization.

The investors purchased the production facility with a concrete-mixing unit, a total area of buildings of 740 m2, a land plot of 0.4 ha for BYR 172,200 ($ 72,000).

The new owners intend to set up a Swedish automated line for the production of paving slabs, curbs, building blocks and other similar products. The design capacity of the equipment is 650 m3 of products per shift. A German co-investor finances equipment installation, staff training, and provides specialized transport equipment.

One of the co-investors, Vadim Shaprunov, says all products are certified in accordance with the European standards. The plant will produce reinforced concrete products for domestic sales, as well as for export, including Russia as the importer closest to the Vitebsk region.

The German investor is ready to boost investment cooperation, including enterprise’s capacity expansion.
