EUROCEMENT Group Invested RUB 200 Million in Repairs at Mikhailovcement

EUROCEMENT group invested RUB 200 million in repair works at its subsidiary, Mikhailovcement. Rotary kilns, cement mills, and raw materials processing facility underwent repairs. Overhaul of electrostatic precipitators was carried at clinker production lines, the enterprise’s representatives told Cement and its Applications.

Three rotary kilns had kiln shells repaired, lining in the sintering zone completely replaced and the fireclay lining in the drying and preheating zone partially replaced. A shaft of the clinker cooler at Mikhailovcement was expanded (including the full replacement of the roof), clinker cooler plates were repaired, along with crusher hammers, bucket conveyors, suction devices and dedusting equipment.

The armor plates and lining of cement mills also were replaced; one mill had both intermediate diaphragm and outlet diaphragm, along with a feeder screw replaced. The main drive gearbox, air chamber pump and aspiration systems were revised and overhauled. Сement pipeline and bag filter of the mill were repaired.

Repair and modernization works also took place in the raw materials processing facility of enterprise. The sludge pipeline was replaced, and the sludge mixing system was modernized. This allowed Mikhailovcement to optimize energy consumption and ensure the high quality of the final product due to a more intensive and even sludge mixing process.

Overhaul of clinker calcining lines with a major overhaul of electrostatic precipitators, as well as modernization of rapping mechanisms (including a change in the operation algorithm) increased the efficiency of dust collection.

“Environmental safety is part of the sustainable development of the enterprise. The production lines are equipped with modern bag filters and electrostatic precipitators,” says Sergey Siromolot, Director General of Mikhailovcement.

In 2018, EUROCEMENT group announced its plans to invest RUB 24.8 billion in modernizations at Mikhailovcement until 2024.
