A cement plant with a capacity of 2 million tons of products per year will be built in Alga. It will create more than 500 jobs.
The head of the region Askhat Shakharov met with investors from Singapore and Kazakhstan and discussed the details of the project development, including financing, construction timeframe and environmental standards.
The head of the region also emphasized that this project is unique for Aktobe region, as it will be the only large enterprise in the western area, the capacity of which will be 2 million products per year. The launch of the new enterprise will not only meet the growing demand for cement, but will also open new opportunities for local construction companies.
At the meeting with the Akim, Nurzhan Shakirov, co-founder of Aktobecem LLP, said that the investors are going to invest 70 billion tenge of their own funds in the construction of the plant. More than 500 jobs will be created at the plant. Preference in recruitment will be given to residents of Alga district and Aktobe region as a whole.
It should be noted that in August this year, a symbolic time capsule laying ceremony was held at one of the sites of the former chemical plant in Alga. Construction and installation works are scheduled for spring 2025, and the cement plant is expected to be launched in 2026.
