Cement producers in Kyrgyzstan will have to adjust electricity tariffs

In order to cover the shortage of electricity associated with the next cycle of low-water period, which led to a decrease in the water level in the Toktogul reservoir, as well as the annual increase in electricity consumption, the Ministry of Energy and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic is implementing a number of measures aimed at stable and reliable functioning of the electric power industry of the country.

The Ministry has developed the draft of a new Medium-Term Electricity Tariff Policy for 2021–2025. In 2021 it is proposed to establish the electric power tariff for manufacturers of cement products at the level of the tariff for industrial consumers of 2.52 KGS/kWh, applying an increasing coefficient of 1.3. When adjusting the tariff by the multiplying factor, the total tariff for this category of consumers will be 3.28 KGS/kWh (excluding taxes).
