In January-August 2020 Armenian enterprises produced 462,900 tons of cement, which is 27.6 % more than in January-August 2019. The volume of ready-mixed concrete production in the country for the same period increased by 18.6 %, up to 405,100 tons.
The volume of production of dry mixtures in 8M 2020 increased by 23.8 % compared to the same period last year and amounted to 30,100 tons. Lime production increased by 4.4 % YoY and amounted to 36,100 tons.
In mid-April, the republic resumed production of cement, as well as concrete products, which had previously been stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, it was allowed to resume some construction work. Already following the results of five months of this year, the country's enterprises showed an increase in cement production by 33.9 % YoY. Meanwhile, cement imports in 5M 2020 fell 41.5 % YoY.
