In January 2021, enterprises of the Republic of Belarus produced 224,400 tons of cement, which is 7.4 % more than in January 2020. The volume of ready-mixed concrete production amounted to 59,400 m3, which is 41.8 % less than in January 2020.
The volume of lime production in January 2021 decreased by 19.3 % compared to last January and amounted to 25,400 tons. The volume of gypsum production increased by 22.1 % and amounted to 6,400 tons.
In 2020, enterprises of the Republic of Belarus produced 4.74 million tons of cement, which is 0.2% more than in 2019. Lime and gypsum production also showed growth over the same period. By the end of 2020, Belarus reduced the volume of cement imports by 1.4 % YoY.
At the beginning of 2021, the Council of Ministers of Belarus extended the mandatory licensing of the import of Portland cement.
