In 2020, the enterprises of Kazakhstan produced 10.8 million tons of cement, which is 5.3 % more than in the 12 months of 2019. The volume of cement production in December 2020 decreased by 28.7 % compared to December 2019, amounting to 555,300 tons.
The volume of production of prefabricated concrete structures in January-December increased by 4 % compared to the same period last year, up to 1.1 million tons. The December volume increased by 55.5 % YoY, up to 131,950 tons.
At the end of May, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced its intention to commission 28 enterprises for the production of building materials.
The cement industry of the republic is represented by 17 integrated enterprises. At the end of last year, a plant with a capacity of 1 million tons per year was commissioned in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region in the south-west of the country. The investor was a Chinese company.
