Cement Production in Kazakhstan in January-February 2021 Increased by 35.3 %

In January-February 2021, enterprises of Kazakhstan produced 1.25 million tons of cement, which is 35.3 % more than in January-February 2020. The volume of cement production in February increased by 22 % compared to February last year and amounted to 741,500 tons.

The volume of production of prefabricated concrete structures in January-February 2021 decreased by 7.5 % YoY, down to 130,300 tons. In February, the same indicator amounted to 82,100 tons, which is 2.9 % more than in February 2020.

In 2020, the enterprises of Kazakhstan produced 10.8 million tons of cement, which is 5.3 % more than in the 12 months of 2019. The volume of cement production in December 2020 decreased by 28.7 % compared to December 2019, amounting to 555,300 tons.

At the end of May, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan announced its intention to commission 28 enterprises for the production of building materials.

The cement industry of the republic is represented by 17 integrated enterprises. At the end of last year, a plant with a capacity of 1 million tons per year was commissioned in the Shieli district of the Kyzylorda region in the south-west of the country. The investor was a Chinese company.
