Cimentos de Moçambique has tripled the cement production capacity of its factory in Nacala from 0.39 to 1.2 Mta by installing a kiln line and increasing the grinding capacity.
The investment costs for the plant in the Northern Province of Mozambique have been about US$ 110m. Company plans to fully stop clinker imports. Cement production will be exported to the country’s northern region, and optionally to Comoros and Madagascar. In addition to the new kiln line, a jetty has been built, which allows economical ship transports in the region. The plant is owned by the Huaxin Cement Group, who acquired the plant assets from InterCement.
