Аfter successful cold tests with the new kiln7 line at Cimpor’s Alhandra cement plant in Portugal, the first kiln firing has been reported.
The project aims to increase the plant’s production capacity from 3,000 to 3,600 tonnes of clinker per day. At the same time, it предусматривает a significant rise in the substitution rate of conventional fuels with alternative fuels — from 40 % to over 80 %.
By the end of 2025, the modernization is expected to enable an additional reduction of approximately 190,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
Currently, engineering and contractor teams are continuing hot commissioning activities and preparing for the production of the first batch of clinker.
