Construction in the Sakhalin region is to increase

During a live broadcast, the head of the region, Valery Limarenko, said that there are ways to curb the rise in housing prices in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. It is necessary to increase the volume of construction, to develop the construction industry, to create a competitive environment, to help equip the land plots with the necessary infrastructure.

The region has 370 prospective sites for housing construction. Federal resources are raised to create infrastructure there. This will reduce the costs for developers, and thus affect the final price of apartments.

The cost of construction is significantly affected by the delivery costs of building materials. Therefore there is an objective to produce them locally. There are plans to open integrated home-building factories to produce reinforced concrete structures and prefabricated houses, build a modular house-building plant, a plant to produce CLT-panels, and a cement plant with the capacity of up to 700 kt of cement per year.
The Far Eastern Mortgage, Mortgage with State Support and Rural Mortgage programs are available on the islands.

The rate of housing construction in the Sakhalin region is growing. Last year, a record 430,000 m2 of housing was commissioned. In 2021, the goal is to reach 500,000 m2, or 7,000 apartments for the Sakhalin and Kuril residents.
