Palletized cement will be transported in new wagons

OOO KuzbassTransCement (a subsidiary of AO HC Sibcem, which is responsible for the operation of the holding's railway fleet) is expanding its rolling stock: the company has received 100 new covered wagons with a total value of 340 million rubles (excluding VAT).

10 units of transport model 11-2135-01 with a carrying capacity of 67 tons and a body volume of 161 cubic meters were purchased from AO Altayvagon using leasing mechanisms, as well as 90 cars model 11-2163 with a carrying capacity of 68 tons and body volume of 161 cubic meters.

“Rolling stock modeled 11-2135-01 has long been effectively operated by our company for the transportation of various lightweight cargo. But innovative cars modeled 11-2163, which can withstand axle loads of up to 25 tons and are distinguished by a longer overhaul period, were received for the first time, – stated Alexander Chagaev, managing director of OOO KuzbassTransCement. – The new technology will be used primarily for the transportation of palletized cement. In the "low" season - from October to March - we plan to deliver other cargoes, for example, light industry products, flour, rapeseed, pasta and cereals."

With the purchase of 100 units of rolling stock, the fleet of KuzbassTransCement covered wagons increased to 500, which allows the company to ensure timely shipment of cement in paper bags placed on wooden pallets and wrapped in a protective stretch film. Currently, the demand for such products continues to grow. According to the results of the first half of 2021, the volume of palletized cement sales at the Topkinsky plant exceeded the same indicator for January–June 2020 by 17%.
