EUROCEMENT Group Cement Production in 2019 up by 14.5% YoY

The plants of the largest Russian cement company EUROCEMENT Group produced 16.5 million tons of products in 2019. This is 14.5% more than in the previous year. The company believes, one of the main reasons behind the growth is repairs and modernizations of equipment and enterprises. The expenses amounted to 7 billion rubles.

Twice the growth of production determined the growth of the Russian market, according to the EUROCEMENT group.

“In 2019, after four years of decreasing demand, the market began to recover, with volumes approaching 58 million tons. The fact that EUROCEMENT Group was able to take advantage of this trend is due to a large-scale development program and investments”, says the company’s CEO Mikhail Skorokhod.

The largest investment projects of the past year were the construction of EOROCEMENT’s own power plant at Kavkazcement, and the modernization of grinding facilities at Katavsky Cement, Mikhailovcement, Pikalevsky Cement and Kavkazcement. A new plant on the basis of Akhangarantsement in Uzbekistan is also under construction.

In 2019, EUROCEMENT Group reorganized all the logistics functions of the holding enterprises into a dedicated company, EUROCEMENT Transport Solutions, which ensured the delivery of products at the peak of the construction season. The holding includes 19 plants in Russia and abroad, the total design capacity of enterprises reaches 60 million tons of cement per year and over 11 million m3 of concrete.
