Gornozavodskcement Develops Portland Cement for High Strength Concrete

Gornozavodskcement plant in the Perm Territory has begun production of Portland cement, specifically for manufacturers of high strength concrete. The new brand of cement is now possible to produce thanks to the modernization of production lines and the re-equipment of the laboratory, according to the AKKERMANN Holding company, the parent company of Gornozavodskcement.

According to specialists of Gornozavodskcement, the new Portland cement CEM I 52.5N has consistently high quality indicators. CEM I 52.5N has up to 30 MPa at the age of 2 days, and up to 60 MPa at the age of 28 days.

The modernization of recent months included the automation of grinding processes, the launch of a new separator, the installation of an in-line granulometer from ITECO, and a quality management system for clinker production.

The development of new Portland cement was carried out by the laboratory, which was equipped with new equipment from Testing, Bruker, and Malvern Panalytical. In addition, the company introduced a cement quality management program allowing for adjusting the grain composition.

In the fall of 2019, Gornozavodskcement signed an agreement with Christian Pfeiffer to modernize two cement mills. The company expects the production of finer cement. The production facilities of the Gornozavodskcement plant are located in the Perm Territory and are capable of producing 2 million tons of cement per year.
