The expert of the online hypermarket of goods for home, dacha, construction and repair "VseInstrumenty.ru" reported that in the summer of 2021 compared with the same period of 2020, the demand for construction equipment and materials has dramatically increased. Nationally, the increase in demand for these product segments from businesses was 51% and 184% respectively. Among individuals, the demand for construction equipment increased by 27%, and for building materials by more than 3 times.
According to the expert from the online hypermarket, the jump in demand for these categories of goods may be associated with an increase in housing construction, which in the first half of 2021 increased by almost 30% compared to the same period last year.
Over the year, there was an almost 4-fold increase in the demand for building materials in Perm and a 2.5-fold increase in St. Petersburg. Companies are actively buying building materials in Moscow ( a growth of 129%), Nizhny Novgorod (128%), Rostov-on-Don (80%), and Volgograd (50%). Households were particularly keen on buying construction materials in Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow, where the demand grew by 173% and 86%, respectively.
The most popular goods from the category of construction equipment among the Russian b2c-segment included concrete mixers, painting machines, as well as belts for strapping and slings. In the category of building materials the most sought after were insulation and soundproofing panels, fillers, polyethylene technical films, as well as glass-fiber mats, said the representative of the online supermarket.
According to him, the businesses most often bought tile setting tools, concrete mixers and straps for fastening loads. Among construction materials, the most popular were insulation, mixes for waterproofing, putty, materials for soundproofing and cement.
