Freight One intensifies work with medium-sized businesses in the hopper segment

Freight One is developing the transportation of alternative cargoes in cement hopper trucks. The operator has signed several service contracts with representatives of medium-sized businesses.

At the end of 5 months of 2021, Freight One transported 2.9 million tons of cargo in cement hoppers, which is 32% more than the previous year. The main drivers were cement (an increase of 31%, to 2.4 million tons), chemical and mineral fertilizers (an increase of 88%, to 98.8 thousand tons), industrial raw materials and molding materials (an increase of 24%, to 109 thousand tons), as well as construction cargo (an increase of 9%, up to 167 thousand tons).

Domestic traffic increased by 33% to 2.7 million tons. The goods were transported mainly in the direction of the North Caucasian, Moscow, Oktyabrskaya and Gorky railways.

127.6 thousand tons of cargo were delivered abroad, which is 13% more than the year before. Loaded wagons went mainly to the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, as well as in the direction of ports for further shipment by sea.

“We try to invite partners from different business segments to cooperate, we work both with large industrial sites and with small enterprises. Our partners have good experience working with Freight One, so they decided to conclude service contracts with us. One of the main advantages of such contracts is a fixed rate for wagons. This is protection from market changes, high-quality budget planning and the ability to keep the price of your products,” stated Ilya Parshikov, head of the department for work with enterprises in the construction and chemical sectors.
