Hunnewell Cement has announced the launch of a large-scale project to increase the capacity of its cement plant in Kaspi to 2.0 million tons per year. The expansion is aimed at fully reducing the country’s dependence on imported cement and strengthening domestic production capacity.
The USD 70 million project is scheduled for completion by the end of next year. The decision to expand is linked to steady growth in the construction sector and increasing demand for building materials.
Hunnewell Cement was established in 2023 following Heidelberg Materials’ exit from its business in Georgia. Today, the company operates two integrated plants in Kaspi and Rustavi, as well as a grinding facility in Poti.
